Wat Buppharam Temple in Thailand

Like many Asian countries, Malaysia is also dotted with temples, sacred shrines and religious sites that attract travelers from all over. In Penang, Malaysia, there’s this Thai Buddhist temple called the Wat Buppharam Thai located near the other popular temples of Wat Chaiyamangalaram and Dhammikarama Burmese.

This small temple complex was constructed in 1942 under the leadership of Phothan Srikheaw, a Thai Buddhist monk. He is considered the temple’s founding father and is honored by an image covered with golf leaf located near the main building of the temple complex.
