Heading to Greece for an amazing vacation? Be sure to see the Meteora, which literally translates to “middle of the sky” or “suspended in the air”. It is next to Mount Athos as the biggest and most significant structure in Eastern Orthodox monasteries.

Located near the Kastraki and Kalampaka towns in the northwestern part of Thessaly, it is composed of several rock summits with 24 monasteries. The unique rock formation is said to have emerged about 60 million years ago. Be sure to see this architectural and religious gem in Greece, which belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites List.
