Valle Verzasca is a remarkable valley nestled in the district of Locarno in Ticino Canton, Switzerland. It encompasses the various municipalities in the area including Corippo, Gerra, Frasco, Brione, Vogorno, Mergoscia and Sonogno. The valley crosses through the river of Verzasca so you can expect grandiose views while you’re here.
Another thing that will fascinate you about this place is its rich flora and fauna. The area is covered with palm and chestnut trees and the tropical wood species called Castanea Sativa. This is also where you’ll find the Nera Verzasca goat, which is endemic to the place, and resembles the ancient Roman goat.
