The highest peak in Japan, Mount Fuji certainly has many in store to tourists coming here. Considered a sacred mountain, this has become an iconic symbol of the country, and also a popular subject for photographs and artworks. It is located about a hundred kilometers southwest of the capital of Japan, Tokyo.
Although it’s an active volcano, its last eruption was way back in 1708. The best view of Mount Fuji can be seen at the Shin-Fuji station. You can also visit the Fuji Five Lake or the Hakone hot spring resort. If you have time, head to some of its fascinating tea gardens located at the mountain foot.
