Taiwan used to have the world’s tallest building–the Taipei 101. Formerly called the Taipei World Financial Center, this skyscraper is situated in the district of Xinyi in Taipei, Taiwan. It was designated at the tallest structure in the world in 2004. But in 2010, the title was handed over to Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
Designed by C.Y. Lee and built by the KTRT Joint Venture and Samsung C&T, this tower has become a world famous landmark even if it is no longer the world’s tallest. It is visited by thousands of tourists ever year. Apart from its green construction, it is also designed to survive earthquakes and typhoons.
