Bluebonnet Fields in Ellis County, Texas are indeed a majestic sight especially during sunset. But apart from the fascinating sight, you’ll also be more interested if you learn more about these flower blooms.
Unlike other flowers, bluebonnets don’t last that long. You can catch them during their peak from March until the end of April and sometimes early May. This is in fact the official state flower, which was declared in 1901 under the Texan legislature. There are five species of bluebonnets that grow in Texas, and these are Lupinus subcarnosus, L. perennis, L. havardii, L. concinnus, and L. plattensis.
