Every national park that you’ll visit in your lifetime will give you something memorable to hold onto. In Croatia, a must-not-miss attraction is its biggest national park called Plitvice Lakes National Park. It is also one of the oldest in the southeastern part of Europe.
This park, which was established in 1949, was included in the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1979. It encompasses 73,350 acres or 296.85 square kilometers of nature reserve, 90 percent of which is part of the Lika-Senj county. Over a million visitors go here every year. You can’t afford to skip this place if you’re spending your vacation in Croatia.
