Guanajuato is a bustling city in the central part of Mexico that will wow you with its beautiful winding streets, historic plazas, colorful churches, structures made of pink or green sandstone, and colonial mansions, among others. This city is also the capital of the state of Guanajuato.
During the early years, it was a top producer of silver as one of its mines called La Valenciana produced two-thirds of the world’s silver. This place is also home to the Mummy Museum, which features mummified bodies from the 19th century. Every year, the Festival Internacional Cervantino welcomes performers and tourists from different parts of the world.
