Most national parks are huge and old. This is probably why Nuuksio isn’t your typical national park. At 45 square kilometers, it’s quite small. And it’s relatively new too, as it was only established in 1994. But despite being young and small, this Southern Finland national park is home to pristine wilderness of birch and conifer forests, gorgeous lakes, and gentle rolling hills. The eye-catching spots are countless.
Popular activities in the park include berry picking, picnicking, rock climbing, ice climbing, hiking, trekking, wildlife viewing and sunset watching. Several tours are available like the Green Window and Feel the Nature Treks. As there’s no food available inside the park, it’s best to bring your own picnic basket.Image Source: all-that-is-interesting.com
