You’ve seen numerous mountains in your life, but only few can be compared to the experience of seeing the Mount Roraima, the highest of the tepui plateaus of the Pakaraima Chain. This picturesque mountain sits on the Guiana Shield in the Canaima National Park, a 30,000 square kilometer nature preserve in Venezuela.
This tabletop mountain is said to be the oldest geological formation in the world, as it was built about 2 billion years ago. Its highest point is called the Maverick Rock at 2,810 meters or 9,219 feet. Although there are many other fascinating attractions in Venezuela, this one shouldn’t be excluded in your itinerary.
