Machu Picchu is said to be the “most amazing urban creation of the Inca Empire”. It is set right in the heart of a lush tropical mountain forest and is built with giant walls, impressive terraces and bewildering ramps cut naturally into the rock escarpments. The dramatic landscape gives your eyes a feast that’s like no other.
This ancient citadel is nestled within the Andes Mountains in Peru, right above the river valley of Urubamba. It was constructed sometime in the 15th century and was abandoned later on. But it was restored to its former glory in the past years.
