When you see a photo such as this, your first thought is probably, take me there! But, unfortunatly, you can only visit this elaborate and fantastic hotel in your dreams, through photo, or by taking a closer look at the design concept. This hotel does not exists–at least not yet. But, Wadhwa Group of India and the architect James Law are sure hoping it becomes a reality. This beautiful design is called the Zwembalkons Hotel Concept. If this design ever comes to life, it is ‘earmarked’ for Mumbai, according to the site.
Although your first thoughts may have been take me there or that looks awesome, after your initial excitement and upon closer inspection you may have other sentiments. These less impulsive thoughts may be questions of how the building functions and supports itself; how prospective buyers feel about the unique design; how inhabitants stay safe despite the seemingly dangerous angles and heights–all while swimming!
Luxury doesn’t begin to describe this hotel concept with its plentiful swimming pool balconies. It is clear the swimming pool balconies are the features that are meant be noticed and remembered. You can tell by the hundreds of balconies that catch your eye in the design as well as by reading the name: Zwembalkons Hotel Concept. The name, zwembalkons translates into ‘swim balcony’ in Dutch.
Whether or not this 37 storey building will make onlookers shudder with apprehension, it will surely make onlookers gasp in wonder!
