These strange looking trees are the primary attraction at the Crooked Forest located near Nowe Czarnowo in West Pomerania, Poland. The forest serves as home to over 400 pine trees with strange shape. These were planted sometime in the 1930s when the place was still under the rule of the Germans.
Some people say that there was a special technique used for growing trees this way. But up to now, no one can say for sure what this is. Others say that the trees have been deformed on purpose to serve as curved timer for boats and furniture. There’s also a speculation that a snowstorm could have caused the trees to bend this way. The mystery behind the trees’ weird shape is one thing that draws tourists to this place.
