Known for its commanding beauty, the Cathedral Cove in the Coromandel Peninsula is one of the top natural attractions in New Zealand. It can be accessed by taking a walk from Hahei Beach. The few minutes of walk will take you to a picturesque archway that has truly captivated the attention of many.
The secluded cove with a cathedral-like arch provides a scenic view like no other. The beach nearby lined with pohutukawa trees is an idyllic spot for kicking back and relaxing. Off the beach at the Cathedral Cove, you’ll find the big pinnacle of pumice breccia rock. This is called the Te Hoho by locals. It’s another noteworthy attraction in the area.
