One of the world’s most critically acclaimed building designs can be found in Porto, Portugal. New York Times describes the Casa de Musica as “a building whose intellectual ardor is matched by its sensual beauty” and “one of the most important concert halls built in the last 100 years”.
This major concert hall is the headquarters of three orchestras namely: Orquestra Barroca, Remix Ensemble, and Orquestra Nacional do Porto. The design is by Rem Koolhaas, a Dutch architect who collaborated with the Office for Metropolitan Architecture. It is also one of Portugal’s most frequented tourist attractions.
