A spectacular natural gem that can be found in the western part of Australia is the Big Lagoon. It used to be a “land-locked saline lake” that eventually evolved into an inland bay with shallow depth. This was formed due to the rising sea levels in the recent years. Right now, it’s a protected fish nursery. In fact, its northern waters are considered a “sanctuary zone” where fishing is not allowed.
If you’re visiting this part of Australia, catch a glimpse of this impressive sight. It is best explored on a canoe or sea kayak. Or you can also ride a helicopter for a scenic flight tour.
